Extremely Disappointed with Citygate Real Estate
I have been a loyal tenant of Citygate Real Estate for over 4 years, but the recent treatment I received is unacceptable and deeply disappointing.
They imposed unjust penalty charges on my cheques, despite the fact that I made a partial cash payment (AED 6,500) against one and fully paid another cheque (AED 9,060)—which was acknowledged and signed by their staff. Yet I received a letter claiming I underpaid and even got charged for a bounced cheque that never happened.
To make matters worse, I had already requested my payment schedule to be on the 15th of each month to match my salary, but they refused and insisted on post-dated cheques for the 1st. Despite informing them that funds would not be available, they still deposited the cheque just to trigger penalties.
This feels like a deliberate move to profit off tenants' difficulties rather than work with them in good faith. It’s unprofessional, inhuman, and frankly haram to treat tenants this way.
If this matter is not resolved properly, I will wait for it to be settled in court before making any further payments or vacating the unit.
My payments are all updated.
