I hope this helps improve your communication processes with future applicants. Timeline of Events: - January 3, 2025: I applied for the vacancy. - January 5: After a WhatsApp conversation, I submitted my portfolio and experience details. - January 7: I was informed that my materials were forwarded to the manager and promised feedback. - January 8–21: My follow-ups about timelines were ignored. - January 22: A Zoom interview was scheduled for January 31, but later rescheduled to January 30 without prior consideration of my availability. - Post-interview (January 30): I was told to expect a response within a week. - February–March 19: I sent regular reminders (every 3–7 days), receiving only requests to “wait.” Eventually, the contact was blocked (profile picture disappeared, messages undelivered). Key Concerns & Suggestions: 1. Timelines. A three-month waiting period without clear explanations undermines transparency. Even for non-linear roles, setting realistic deadlines and updating candidates is crucial. 2. Communication. Ignoring messages and blocking candidates shows disrespect for their time. A polite rejection takes minimal effort and protects your brand’s reputation. 3. Luxury Brand Standards. Luxury is not just about products but also about respect. Poor candidate experience contradicts the values you promote. Recommendations: - Implement automated status updates for applications. - Train HR to provide clear timelines and feedback, including rejections. - Introduce a final response stage to close communication ethically.
