McDonald's HQ
Head office
Dear McDonald's Global Headquarters,
I am writing about a disconcerting experience at McDonald's Jbeil in Lebanon. We ordered a meal totaling 20 USD and attempted to pay with a 50 dollar bill. However, the cashier refused to accept this and also rejected our offer to pay by credit card. Instead, she suggested we leave and break our bill at a nearby gas station.
This situation escalated when the supervisor not only supported the cashier's stance but also removed their name tags, seemingly to evade responsibility. When we mentioned that we hadn't faced such issues at other McDonald's branches in Lebanon, we were dismissively told that other branches' policies were not their concern.
A third employee eventually assisted us, but the overall experience was far from the service standards we associate with McDonald's. This incident suggests a serious issue with service culture at this branch, whether at the level of individual employees, management, or the franchisee.
McDonald's strength lies in consistent, global service, and this incident markedly tarnishes that image. I hope this matter will be addressed to prevent further adverse experiences.
