10. Mushroom Rock
The large limestone block infornt of you has fallen drom the cliff top. It has a mushrrom shape with a "cap" made of dripstone. The dripstone formed when rainwater partially dissolved some of the limstone. The water dried up and the limestone resolidified. In the stem of the mushrrom, you cansee fossils of marine animals; a few rudists, extinct two-shelled mollusks and many 3 to 4 cm nodules that were made by algae. Atleast 29 different types of rudists have been found at jabal Buhais and neighboring jabals.
