The square was built in the early nineteenth century and named Al Nakhel (a local word meaning palm trees) as it is located adjacent to palm plantations. The square was used as surveillance and protection and is distinguished by its square shape with dimensions (3.90m x 3.80m) and a height of 8m with an entrance located on the western side of the first level. The square features narrow longitudinal holes punctuated with square-shaped openings and topped with serrations for surveillance and firing from the gun nozzles. Additionally, it has three protruded holes to pour boiling oil in case of an external attack.
