Silk Floss Tree
This tree is more than 100 years old and belongs to the Malvaceae family. Silk Floss tree ornate flowers which bloom between February and May, as well as beautiful cone shaped thorns that cover the trunk and branches. The trunck is studded with thick conical princkles which serves to store water for dry seasons. Silk Floss trees grow fast in spurts when water is abundant, and sometimes reach a height of more than 25 metres.
